PVC film is a plastic film material made primarily from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, with the addition of plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, colorants, and other additives, through processes such as calendering, blow molding, or casting. Its thickness is usually between 0.08 and 0.2 mm; thicknesses greater than 0.25 mm are called PVC sheets.
Soft PVC Film (Plasticized PVC): Contains plasticizers (10%–50%), flexible, sticky to the touch, commonly used for flooring, ceilings, and leather surfaces; however, it tends to become brittle over long-term use and has poor preservation.
Rigid PVC Film (Unplasticized PVC): Contains little or no plasticizer, good flexibility, easy to form, not prone to brittleness, non-toxic and pollution-free, long-lasting, and more widely used.
Typical Characteristics of PVC Film
Good wear resistance, scratch resistance, water resistance, and oil resistance
☆Transparent and impermeable
☆Resistant to acids, bases, and corrosion
☆Lightweight, with a light transmittance of about 10%–20%
☆Can be vacuum-formed, suitable for decorative films and adhesive films
